The Museum of the City (MDC) teamed up with the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to launch a project aimed at researching the knowledge and cultural values of a group of women traders in the popular markets of the Metropolitan District of Quito, including the yerbateras and the 1ยบ de Mayo Platform. My task was to translate the research findings into four infographics that were in line with the social and cultural identity of the yerbateras and popular markets. To achieve this, I conducted my own visual research.
Unlike previous projects, this one presented a unique challenge: to create infographics that could tell their own story with minimal reliance on graphic design elements such as iconography and text. Given that the target audience was children, I decided to experiment with children's illustration. All the illustrations were hand-drawn in an 80 x 100 cm format.
